Newsletter May 8-12

Announcements:

Thank you all so much for being so supportive  this semester with the change mid year. I have loved being in 3rd grade, getting to know all of the children more, and teaching them! Friday, May 12th will be my last day this school year as I prepare to travel with my daughter's soccer team to play in England. I am excited about joining the HCC staff next year to teach 6th grade. So, I will get to see everyone in the halls and in the classroom again! I love them so much! I hope everyone has a wonderful, safe, and blessed summer!!

*Lessons are planned through the end of the year. Please continue to attend school daily to avoid make-up work. 

*Pack water bottles daily. If the weather permits, we will enjoy a little extra time outside!

*Work on AR and iReady

*Continue to memorize multiplication facts

Announcements:

*MAY 2ND IS THE STATE MATH TEST

*May 3rd is Miss Shelby's last day. We will have a small celebration for her.

*We will continue with lessons through the end of the year. We will begin our 4th grade entry material. 

*Work on multiplication facts daily and use iReady and Moby Max resources.

Newsletter April 24-28 

Announcements:

*Even though there is little homework assigned over the next couple of weeks due to state testing, please review key concepts with your child. iReady and Moby Max are FABULOUS resources that they can use to practice and prepare. They can login to these resources through their CLEVER school account from anywhere. 

*Work on multiplication facts daily. The factors will go up to 10x10 this week with a 4 minute time to complete it.

*STATE TESTING DATES:

- Writing- Thursday, April 27th

-Math- Tuesday, May 2nd

Newsletter April 17-21

Announcements:

*Even though there is little assigned homework over the next couple of weeks due to state testing, please review key concepts with your child. iReady and Moby Max are FABULOUS tools that they can use to practice at home, in the car, waiting at the ballpark, etc... These programs are all accessible through their school Clever account (they know their login information.) These programs also ask questions in the format that they will be tested in.

*Work on multiplication facts daily. The time this week is 3 minutes with up to 9x9 factors. Next week we will be adding 10's.  

* Outdoor Adventure Field Trip is Thursday, April 20th. If you have not already done so, please send the extra $7 to cover the cost of bus and driver. 

*STATE TEST DATES:

Announcements:

*Work on multiplication facts daily. We will be adding 9 factors this week starting at 4 minutes and dropping time. In the next 2 weeks we will be adding 10 factors. 

*Outdoor Adventure Field Trip is Thursday, April 20th. Please make sure to send the extra $7 for the trip ASAP.

*State Testing Dates- Please make sure that students get a good night's rest and eat breakfast.

*Easter Holiday is April 7th through 10th. NO SCHOOL for students, Good Friday and Easter Monday.

*Work on multiplication facts daily. The time is reduced to 3 minutes this week. Next week, we will be adding 9 factors.

*Outdoor Adventure Field Trip is Thursday, April 20th.

***Just a reminder that we will continue weekly through these 9-weeks. Please speak with your child about the importance of finishing these 9-weeks strong. They need t continue to do their best. We are focusing on putting all the concepts that we have learned this year together. CULMINATION IS EVERYTHING! Many items they will be tested on are multi-step.

*If you have not already done so, please turn in your child's permission slip and funds for the Outdoor Adventure field trip. Money for the trip is due by March 29th. 

*Work on multiplication facts daily. We will have all facts up to 8x8 beginning this week. We will begin at four minutes and drop time next week.

* If you have not already done so, please sign and return the permission slip for the field trip scheduled for April 20th to Outdoor Adventure Park. Funds are due by March 29th.

*Report cards go home on Friday, March 24th. All make up work must be completed by the end of the day, Tuesday, March 21st.

Announcements:

*Students must have at least 2 passed lessons and 60 minutes in Reading and Math iReady each week. Some students may need to work on this at home. 

*Work on multiplication recall of facts daily. We will add 7's to the Mad Minute this week. 

*We have ELS ELA (Tuesday) and ELS MATH (Wednesday) Testing. These will be treated as a "mock" test. I have planned to cover a math lesson daily with activities in science with landforms. However, I am going to monitor the students after testing and see what they are up for. Therefore, the schedule may change. I will communicate all changes through school status.

*NO SCHOOL MARCH 13-17.

Announcements:

*Black History Open House is Tuesday, February 28 from 9am-11am.

*Students must have at least 2 passed lessons and a minimum of 60 minutes in each subject weekly. (Students that attend INSPIRE, may need to work on this at home if they are not making wise use of their time at school.)

*Work on multiplication daily. We will add 7's  to our weekly set next week. 

February 20-24

Anouncements:

*Black History projects are due Thursday, February 23rd. Students will present in class on Thursday and Friday.

*Black History Open House is Tuesday, February 28th from 9-11am.

*Students must have at least 2 passed lessons and a minimum 60 minutes in each subject weekly. (Students that attend Inspire or are pulled from activity classes may need to work on this at home.)

*Students must complete at least 2 lessons in IReady math and reading combined with at least 60 minutes of active work time each week. These lessons provide wonderful reinforcement of what is being taught at school! Students are able to work on these at home. 

January 30- February 3

NEWSLETTER JANUARY 30- FEBRUARY 3

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

*Valentines Day Party will be February 9th at 1:30pm. We will decorate a box in class for the party. Please have your box and supplies sent to school by Wednesday, February 1st.

*No School for Winter Break, Friday, February 10 - Monday, February 13

*Multiplication Fact Mad Minutes will begin February 15th. Make sure to practice daily.

*Students must complete 2 lessons and 60 minutes in both Reading and Math weekly. These can be worked on at home.

January 16-20

*Have a great long weekend! NO SCHOOL MONDAY, JANUARY 16TH FOR MLK JR. DAY

NEWSLETTER JANUARY 16-20

**Thank you to those parents that sent Clorox wipes! If you can send any, that would be greatly appreciated!!

**Work on multiplication facts daily. We will begin weekly multiplication mad minute in four weeks.

**We work on iReady during WIN time daily. However, those students that miss some or all of WIN time must work on iReady at home. Please check for 2 passed lessons and 60 minutes weekly in both math and reading. Not to mention, it is a fabulous resource for extra practice! 

**Valentine's Party will be February 9th at 1:30pm. This is a regular school day. It is the  Thursday before winter break. 

**Winter Break is Friday, February 10th and Monday, February 13th. No school these days.
